Hardwood is one of the most popular materials in Stardew Valley. It can be used for many purposes.
With hardwood, you can easily craft some useful machines, like a cheese press, or an oil maker. It’s also required to upgrade your Farmhouse to the second level and for building a stable, which allows you to keep and ride your own horse.
There are few simple ways how to get the hardwood in Stardew Valley:
Woodskip is one of the Stardew Valley fishes. You can catch them in the pond in the Secret Woods in any season.
When you place your woodskips in a fish pond, they will reproduce (up to 10 fishes, depends on your pond capacity). What’s more important in this case, these fish ponds will also produce some items, including our hardwood.
All players have forgaging skill. After leveling up, you’re allowed to pick some professions.
It’s always hard, but there are few stages when you have to choose between two different skills. On level 10 players choose one between Forester and the Gatherer.
Players who picked the Forester have a bonus that generates a chance to drop hardwood from every tree.
Even without being a Forester, you can still easily get hardwood from trees, but only from Mahogany Trees.
To do that, just chop them down with your axe.
