How to get Clay in Stardew Valley?

Clay is one of the most common resources in Stardew Valley. It’s often used in crafting and construction, especially for building Silos, which are extremely important for those who have animals.

Clay may be used for:

• Crafting a Garden Pot.
• Crafting a Brick Floor.
• Crafting a Quality Retaining Soil.
• Crafting a Deluxe Retaining Soil.
• Crafting a Bone Mill.
• Crafting a Fiber Seeds.
• Building a Silo.

It’s also sometimes required in quests.

Clay may be also sold for 20g per one piece. However, I do not recommend this, because it’s very useful material, which is often missing. Better save it for the future.

Where to get Clay?

There are few easy ways to get clay:

• Digging up dirt
• Digging up sand
• Digging up Artifact Spots
• Opening Geodes (Blacksmith)

You can also receive Clay as a gift, but it’s usually a bit harder.
