Since GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition didn’t come with any official multiplayer, some fans may be rooting for any other clients, which could allow them to play their new favorite game in online modes like with SA-MP, or MTA for GTA San Andreas, or with FiveM for GTA V.
Personally, I’ve put thousands of hours into GTA SA Multiplayers. I’d love to play with my old friends in the remastered version of the game.
For now, there are no official and unofficial Multiplayers for GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition.
However, there are some interesting threads on the internet, which leads us to believe that there will be some multiplayer in the future:
1. Multi Theft Auto is one of the most popular multiplayer clients for GTA Games. It’s free, open-source, and just great. I love playing MTA on GTA San Andreas because it’s so stable and still keeps thousands of active players every day. On the Multi Theft Auto forum, someone asked if there is a chance that MTA would support also the new GTA Trilogy. One of the administrators (Tut) said some of their team members may be interested in that project, and some contributors reached out to MTA team members in order to help them with Trilogy Multiplayer.
2. There is also a new, dedicated Sade-MP project. They’re already working on this, and they’re planning to create this Multiplayer using C#, and JS. This project looks so promising, especially when we’re considering the fact that they’ve got over 1500 people on their discord in less than 10 days. They’re also thinking about making converting old PAWN code possible in the future, which means all the old servers from SA-MP could be easily converted into this new platform. This would be absolutely fantastic!
Since the game has launched recently, it’s too soon to state any dates. To be honest, I would be surprised if good Multiplayer came as early as in 2021.
